The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you are looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that is priced in the middle. It provides a fantastic mopping experience, but it lacks the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
In tests it was able to remove pet hair and dry oats from medium-pile carpets. It doesn't employ LIDAR however, like cheaper models do to map your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the most highly-rated robots. It comes with a variety of features and incredible cleaning power, including a dirt compartment that is built into the base of charging. The robot will learn your cleaning habits, and suggest automated schedules that will give you an effortless cleaning experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automatic cleaning functions at the touch of one button. You can choose a general clean which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as cereal and rice. You can also opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your entire home is completely cleaned.
This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpet with a low pile. It can take in large objects and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as some others do and can clean up pet hair with ease. It's not able to work with carpets that are high-pile or plush however, iRobot claims that future models will be better.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which focuses on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which will allow it to be able to swaddle walls and furniture. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are widely used however we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also features superior filtration, which prevents tiny particles and allergens from circulating within your home. We think it's a nice statement however, it's not enough to justify a higher price.
Its smart navigation system employs a combination of sensors to remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, such as stairs and other barriers, and to tidy up your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundaries so that the robot knows the areas that require attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it comes to robots that combine mopping and vacuuming, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on more expensive models. And its mopping system is even better - its spinning pads scrub floors better than an ordinary pad that vibrates.
The only issue is the lack of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. But that's not a problem when you're looking to purchase one of the best robots on the market. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than many of its competitors. Filling it takes just two or three times, even when you've got the most dirt.
For the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to scrub the tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping settings that it has which are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch television without being distracted. If it comes into contact with a wall or piece of furniture it gently bumps into it and moves forward.
The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and can automatically transfer trash into a hidden more info bin. It also cleans and dries, as well as refills the clean water tank. The app is capable of notifying you when something requires attention, like the water tank being empty or a scheduled cleaning session that was cancelled because of a full dust bin.
You can also design and merge rooms to modify how the Q Revo treats your abode. This feature is helpful for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home, or in the event that you have to regularly get rid of clutter like toys, clothes, and books. The robo-vac was also one of the best performers in my test, picking up debris on both carpets as well as hardwood floors with the first attempt. It is able to even clean up spills that are wet but I would suggest wiping them dry with a cloth before sending the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a premium robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It has a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has an automatic cleaning station that washes and cleans the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready to be reused. It also comes with a sensor that can detect obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling on furniture or other objects.
The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it has a sleeker, more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still quite large. It measures over two feet in the height and depth and weighs almost four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot J7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that works even if you are not at home. It also comes with a smart routing feature that allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.
The Omni Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested, thanks to its mop pads that rotate to remove tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent too and it increases suction when it detects carpet to ensure it's doing an excellent job. It has a large, rechargeable battery that lasts up to one week. The mopping mode of the robot is also very effective.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a high-end model that offers a number of features that aren't typically found on robots of this price. It can make detailed floor maps and identify various flooring types. It's also one of the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are nice but they also make the L10s more of a luxury category. This could mean it's more expensive than homeowners need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It is tall and slim and has a white-colored finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with an enormous bumper that shields the furniture and vacuum cleaner when you are moving around your home. In the pane in the front is additional navigation technology in the form of sensors that help the L10s Ultra maneuver tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, there's one button that basically acts as an on/off switch. Clicking this will turn on the vacuum, and clicking it again will turn off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The center of the control panel is the circular menu which lets you select cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will bring up the settings menu in which you can tweak how the L10s Ultra works with your home.
Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation techniques to help you map out your home. This creates a precise floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop efficiently and avoid getting stuck in areas with clutter. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and recognize them and avoid them, which is a great feature for homes with pets or small children.
The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4 percent of the debris we test on hard floors and removing all but stubborn juice staining. Its mops are also quite efficient, taking away 98.4 percent of debris from our wood, tile, and carpet tests. However, it wasn't as great at tackling sand on the floor, or Quaker oats on carpet.
