The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you are looking for a robot vacuum and mop that is priced in the middle. It offers a great mopping experience, but doesn't have the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
During tests, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium pile. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to help you map your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the top-rated robots. It has impressive cleaning power and a variety of features such as an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. The robot also learns your habits of cleaning and suggest automated schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can start the automatic cleaning functions at the push of a button. You can select an overall clean that focuses on the removal of larger particles like rice and cereal. You can also select two detailed mappings to ensure that your entire home is thoroughly cleaned.
This robot vac performs well on floors that are unfinished and carpet with a low pile. It is able to pick up pet hair and sucks large items up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It does have a hard time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot says it will get better in the future with new models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which concentrates on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that uses a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes this will allow it to be able to hug the furniture and walls. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard however we found it to be just marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also has a superior filtration system which blocks microscopic particles and allergens recirculating throughout your home. It's a nice claim but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors that remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology for mapping the interior. It can then clean your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and also set virtual boundaries so that the robot can determine what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a machine that combines vacuuming and mopping. Its vac settings are just as effective as those of higher-end models, and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a better job of scrubbing your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.
The only drawback is the absence of a second brush for deeper cleaning. But that's not a major issue if you want to own one of the top robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is also larger than many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the highest dirt level.
As for the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than high-powered settings, produce little noise, so you can work or even watch television without getting distracted. If it comes across a wall or piece of furniture it gently bumps into it before moving on.
The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and can automatically transfer trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app will only notify you if something is wrong for example, a low clean water tank or a cancelled vacuuming session due to the bin being full.
You can also create or merge rooms to customize the way that Q Revo manages your home. That's a handy feature for those who have multiple areas of your home with different flooring materials or if there's clutter that must be cleared out regularly, such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the top performers in my tests and was able to remove debris from carpets and hardwood floors in the first attempt. It is able to even vacuum up wet spills, though I recommend drying them with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that has all the features you can wish for. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum with powerful suction that cleans carpet and hard floors, and a rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also comes with an auto-cleaning station that automatically washes and empties the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready to be reused. It also has a new sensor system that is able to better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture and other objects.
The most significant improvement to the ECOVACS the X1 Deebot is its modern, sleeker design. This is due to Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet in height and depth and weighs in excess of four pounds--the entire robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris, making it easier to empty when required.
The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that is functional even if you are not at home. It also comes with a smart routing function that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.
The X2 Omni is the top robot at mopping. Its rotating mop pads scrub away tough stains, and its motor generates lots of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is excellent, and it increases suction when it detects carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It comes with a huge rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven days. The mopping feature of the robot is also extremely effective.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium robot vacuum and mop that comes with a range of convenience features you aren't likely to find on robots of this price. It is able to create detailed floor maps and detect various flooring types. It's also one of the few robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. Although these features are nice to have however, they also push the L10s Ultra into the category of luxury, which might make it a little more expensive than the average homeowner require.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It is slim and tall, with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features an impressive bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture while moving around your home. Behind the pane at the front is an additional navigation technology in the form of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum there is a single button that acts as an on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, and pressing it again will shut off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The center of the control panel includes an oblique menu that lets you choose cleaning best affordable robot vacuum modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons will open the settings of the app where you can alter the way the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map out your home. This creates a precise floor plan that allows the robot vacuum and mop with ease, without getting stuck in cluttered areas. The LIDAR also assists the robot vacuum to recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for households with children or pets.
The L10s Ultra is an efficient vacuum cleaner, removing 98.4% debris from our test on hard floors, and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops also perform well and remove 98.4 percent of the debris from our tile, carpet and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as effective in removing sand from the hard floor and the quaker oats that are on carpet.
